Urgent Care on the Weekend: Here’s What You Should Know

Featured Image

Every minute counts when your child is not feeling well. No more long drives to seek care at pricey emergency rooms. At Village Pediatrics, we are proud to offer our patients superior care all week long, including the weekend for those who can’t schedule their illnesses.

Let us walk you through the benefits of our urgent care weekend hours!

How does it work?

If your child is in pain or uncomfortable, it’s best to seek care as soon as possible. With our extended care on the weekend, you can do just that! Each Saturday your child has access to see a pediatric care provider from our practice from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm through a telehealth visit or in-person at our Plano office.

If you and your child are seeing a provider virtually, your virtual visit will be through the secure Patient Portal platform. You can easily access this from the comfort of your home with any computer, tablet or cell phone that has video capability with internet access. Your pediatrician will be able to diagnose conditions and provide any medication prescriptions if needed.

What can be treated?

There are many different health concerns our pediatricians can help alleviate during an urgent care visit.

These include:

  • Coughs and colds
  • Allergies
  • Sore throat
  • Low-grade fever
  • Skin ailment
  • Minor bumps, cuts, or burns
  • Earache
  • Medication refills and more

We treat you like family.

Every patient of ours is a part of the family, which comes with many advantages. When your child visits us on the weekend, we already have their health records on file. There’s no need to re-explain medical history over and over to another medical professional, this ensures your child can receive the care they need even sooner. Not to mention, each one of our pediatric care providers will provide care for your child as if they were their own.

Urgent Care vs. Emergency Care

There is nothing more important to us than helping your child lead a happy, healthy life. But please remember if your child is experiencing a life-threatening condition, please seek emergency care right away.

Emergency conditions include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Abdominal pain
  • Severe bleeding
  • Seizures
  • Extreme trauma or injuries
  • Allergic reaction and trouble breathing
  • Major burn

Getting your child the medical attention they need, when they need it has never been so easy. To schedule an urgent telehealth appointment for your child, please click here or text 214) 473-2200.
