How to make a no sew face mask at home

Featured Image

As the shortage of traditional face masks continues, it’s best to take matters into your own hands to best protect yourself and loved ones when around others. One of the latest advisories from the CDC is to wear a face mask when out in public, whether you are sick or even completely healthy. Since face masks are getting harder to find on the shelves, you can easily craft one yourself by using a few simple materials found around your home.

How to make a face mask at home:

Step 1: The first thing you’ll want to do is lay out your bandana on a flat surface. If you don’t have any bandanas laying around the house, you can substitute it with an old t-shirt. Just cut off the front of the shirt, approximately 22" x 22" in size, and you’ll end up with the same amount of fabric as a bandana.

Step 2: Next, fold the bottom half of the bandana to the middle.

Step 2

Step 3: Do the same with the top half.

Step 3

Step 4: Then, go ahead and flip the entire bandana to the other side so that the full pattern is facing up.

Step 4

Step 5: From this point, fold the bottom half to the middle.

Step 6: Repeat the same step by folding the top half to the middle as well.

Step 6

Step 7: Next, get your elastic bands ready and add one to each side. You can use hair ties or loose rubber bands.
